چکیده
Piping systems are a representative social infrastructure to provide oil, gas, and water. Damage piping may cause serious consequences, such as fire, water outage, environmental pollution. Therefore, need be protected from natural disasters, earthquakes. Earthquakes deformation that exceeds design criteria. For example, large relative displacements liquefaction of the ground resulting in loss strength subsidence, side-sway primary structures subjected strong motion critical damage systems. expansion joints maintain flexibility can applied locations where excessive is expected improve seismic performance Metal bellows, type joints, flexible, so they highly durable against fatigue loads. This indicates metal bellows used separation for piping. In this study, experimental research was conducted analyze multi-ply bellows. Monotonic loading tests cyclic were on 2-ply 3-ply results compared. tests, multi-step increasing amplitude loading, which displacement history amplified stages, constant cycling with various magnitudes considered. The test showed no significant difference bending monotonic between two types however, higher low-cycle than

Evaluation of Performance Requirements for Seismic Design of Piping System
The cost of damage to the non-structural systems in critical facilities like nuclear power plants and hospitals can exceed 80% of the total cost of damage during an earthquake. The failure of nonstructural components, especially, piping systems led to leakage of water and subsequent shut-down of hospitals immediately after the event. Consequently, the evaluation of performance of these types of...
متن کاملExperimental Evaluation of the Seismic Performance of Hospital Sprinkler Systems
This paper discusses the experimental set-up and procedures for the seismic testing and evaluation of a sprinkler system in hospital model. Concrete compression tests are ran to ensure compliance with ACI 355.2 anchor testing qualifications. Maximum shear strength of the anchor is found to include within the piping system model. Frame and piping system within the model is tested under input mot...

This paper presents findings from shake table experiments on cable-braced and unbraced welded hospital piping systems. The research identifies the capacity characteristics of a hospital piping system with and without bracings as well as the system’s weak points. The system was tested to the ICBO AC156 acceptance criteria for nonstructural components. The input motion of 1g was amplified to almo...

Nonlinear dynamic analyses are performed to compute the maximum relative input energy per unit mass for 21 multi-degree-of-freedom systems (MDOF) with preselected target fundamental periods of vibration ranging from 0.2 to 4.0 s and 6 target inter-story ductility demands of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 subjected to 40 the earthquake ground motions. The efficiency of the several intensity measures as an ind...
